• About the Artist: Ruth Reeves was born in 1892 in California. She studied art at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, NY (1910-11) and The Art Students League. She studied with Fernand Leger, who also designed fabrics, in Paris in the 1920s, and returned to the US in 1928. One of her best-known works, and an exemplar of her narrative cubism-inflluenced style, was the carpeting and wall fabrics she designed for Radio City Music Hall, reproduced by Scalamandre in 1999.
